Die Virtuelle Einstein Ausstellung

Mit der Berliner Ausstellung "Albert Einstein: Ingenieur des Universums" im Jahre 2005, mit der Einsteins Wunderjahr 1905 gewürdigt wird, hat das Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte ein neues Konzept entwickelt: eine "Ausstellung ohne Wände". Auch nach dem Ende der Ausstellung, bietet die virtuelle Ausstellung ein lebendiges Panorama der Wissenschaftsgeschichte, das sich sowohl als Lern- und Lehrmittel eignet als auch als eine Ressource für die Wissenschaftsgeschichte und die langfristige Verfügbarkeit der für die Ausstellung zusammengefügten Inhalte gewährleistet.

Die Ausstellung handelt von Einsteins Biographie sowie von seinen großen wissenschaftlichen Durchbrüchen, sie dokumentiert die Geschichte der Relativitätstheorie, die Geschichte der Quantentheorie ebenso wie die Entwicklung der Atomphysik im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert, indem sie Einsteins Wissenschaft in ihre politischen und kulturellen Kontexte stellt. Die Ausstellung gliedert sich in drei Stationen:

The Virtual Einstein exhibition

With the Berlin exhibition “Albert Einstein: Chief Engineer of the Universe” in 2005, celebrating the centenary of Einstein's Annus Mirabilis 1905, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science pioneered a new concept: an “exhibition without walls.” Even after the closure of the Einstein exhibition, the virtual exhibition continues to offer a living panorama of the history of science that is useful as a learning and teaching tool but also as a resource for the history of science, and that guarantees the long-term availability of the contents assembled for the exhibition.

The exhibition deals with Einstein's biography as well as with his major scientific breakthroughs, documenting the history of relativity theory, the history of quantum theory, as well as the development of atomic physics in the twentieth century, placing Einstein science in its political and cultural contexts. The exhibition is split up into three sections:
