On the Shoulders of Giants and Dwarfs

Aristotle:

Gentlemen, you digress. In the universe everything has its order and its natural place. Heavy bodies fall straight down because they strive to reach their natural place, the center of the Earth. Therefore, when the apple falls from the tree, it is only trying to move toward its natural place.

Newton:

Rubbish. When I saw that famous apple fall, I realised that its movement followed the same law as the movement of the Moon. The Earth attracts both, like a magnet attracts iron. Gravity is an invisible force that rules the entire universe.
