Einstein is to hold a lecture about the theory of relativity at the hundredth anniversary celebration of the Society of German Natural Scientists and Physicians. The anti-relativists launch a protest declaration: The planned lecture about Einstein’s “mistaken and logically untenable hypothesis” is designated as a “deception of public opinion,” and furthermore irreconcilable with “the seriousness and dignity of German science.”
