Is Einstein a Plagiarist?
The Dearborn Independent, 30 April 1921
As early as the beginning of the 1920s, the automobile magnate Henry Ford, a convinced anti-Semite, ranted against the “international Jewish conspiracy” in his newspaper The Dearborn Independent. The allegation of plagiarism is often raised against Einstein by anti-Semitic elements: They claim that it was not the Jew Einstein, but a non-Jewish German who developed the theory of relativity. However, these supposed forerunners had only worked within the context of classical physics to study single effects explained by the theory of relativity.
