Einstein Defends Military Service

Manuscript for “Response to an Article by B. D. Allison,” 1934

Under the impression of the Nazi takeover in Germany and Germany’s policy of war, Einstein changes his attitude towards military service and conscientious objection. He says democratic countries must have the means to resist Nazi Germany.
