The Expanding Universe
Albert Einstein: Manuscript for an addendum to On the Special and the General Theory of Relativity (A Popular Account), Princeton 1946, facsimile

In this addendum that Einstein writes for the 14th printing of his popular scientific book he talks about the changes in cosmology since the first printing in 1917. He points out his assumption that the universe is unchangeable – an error, as had been proved in the meantime. He mentions the redshift of galaxies as empirical evidence for the expansion of the universe.
