At the European Centre of Nuclear Research CERN, the Paul trap is also used in order to store electrically charged particles of antimatter.

Large-scale Model of a Paul Trap
Due to the principle of the Paul trap, its functioning may be demonstrated using a considerably enlarged model. In place of the charged particle, electrostatically charged material may be used that is visible with the unarmed eye. Notice the movement of the white little flake inside the ring.
