At 11:30 a.m. on 14 March 1879, a cold, sunny Friday, Albert Einstein is born. His sister Maya reports that his mother, upon seeing that the back of his head was unusually large and square, believed he was a freak. The doctor reassured her, however, and after a couple of weeks the size of the skull has normalized.
