In 1896, Einstein takes his final exams at the Aarau Canton School. The topic of his essay for the French exam is “My Plans for the Future.” In this essay he writes that he wants to study mathematics and physics. He would like to concentrate on the theoretical parts of these sciences, as he believes that he has no talent for their practical aspects.
