Einstein’s Application to the Patent Office

Through the mediation of his friend Marcel Grossmann, Einstein applies for a position as “engineer, 3rd class” at the Federal Office for Intellectual Property. He starts work six months later, finally putting his major financial worries behind him. From then on he works seven years long, content as a “patenting slave.”
