Gravitational waves
A few months after the completion of his general theory of relativity, Einstein examines systematically the case of weak gravitational fields. In this case, approximate solutions for his theory can be found. He presents his results at the session of the Academy of Sciences taking place on June 22, 1916: Changes in the gravitational fields, disturbances of spatial geometry, propagate wave-like at the speed of light.
