Record holder: Joint European Torus (JET, Culham)

The world's largest fusion plant, the common European project JET at Culham in England, was the first where the 'sun fire' fetched to the Earth was burning.

Strength of the magnetic field: 4 Tesla.

For the exploration of many fundamental physical issues it is rather inconvenient to work already with the radioactive Tritium. In order to likely avoid negative surprises when building a reactor, ignition experiments have nevertheless been conducted at JET.
