David Hilbert: Die Grundlagen der Physik (Erste Mitteilung)

Page proof with hand written corrections by Hilbert, with stamp from 6 December 1915

Hilbert picks up Einsteins concept of the Entwurf Theory. He tries to connect it to the speculative theory of matter, developed by the physicist Mie. The page proofs show that Hilbert accepts only space-time-coordinates which meet a constraint for the conservation of energy. Other essential parts of the General Theory of Relativity are also missing.
