Einstein and the Appeal to the Europeans
Georg Friedrich Nicolai, 1918
The text composed by the physiologist Georg Friedrich Nicolai and Albert Einstein is intended as a counter-manifesto to the appeal To The World of Culture. Because it finds few supporters, it does not become known until Nicolai’s book Die Biologie des Krieges is published in 1917. The commitment to international understanding and a European order of peaceful equilibrium is drowned out by the clamor of war.
