A world-wide detector network
Currently, six major interferometric detectors (shown in red) are in operation or undergoing tested: The two detectors of the LIGO project in the US with four kilometres arm-length, one LIGO detector with half that arm-length, GEO 600, the French-Italian VIRGO, and the Japanese TAMA 300 detector with 300 metre long arms. Also, there is a network of resonant detectors (shown in green).
