LISA - a gravitational wave detector in space
On Earth, there are noise sources that a gravitational wave detector simply cannot escape, such as noise due to seismic vibrations. The solution: LISA, the "Laser Interferometer Space Antenna" - a gravitational wave detector in space. LISA is a joint project of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the US-american NASA. On the European side, the leading institution is the Max-Planck-Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert-Einstein-Institute).
