In 1927 de Broglie’s idea of the wave character of matter is confirmed impressively: Clinton Davisson and Lester Germer deflect electron radiation in crystal lattices. They obtain patterns similar to the ones Max von Laue did in his X-ray deflection experiments. Thus it is merely a matter of perspective whether light and matter appear to be waves or particles – wave-particle dualism is established.
