Lorentz raises a new consideration on the light-quantum hypothesis: The dimensions of light quanta must be larger than the diameter of the objective of conventional telescopes; otherwise the classical theory of lens errors could not be explained. Thus even when stars were observed with the naked eye, a very extensive splitting of light quanta must take place.
