Electrostatic Lens for the EM8 Electron Microscope

Parallel to Ruska, a group at AEG headed by Ernst Brüche is working on the idea of the electron microscope. They develop an electrostatic lens, in which the electron waves are bundled in an electric field, rather than in a magnetic field as in Ruska’s device.
