Einstein Travels to France
Newspaper article, March 1922
Einstein is the first scholar from Germany to be received officially by the former archenemy after World War I. Foreign Minister Rathenau recognizes the political significance of this invitation and urges a hesitant Einstein to accept.

The pacifist and democrat Einstein is received sympathetically by most of the public; the Parisian population throngs to his lectures at the Collège de France.
