Einstein’s Summer Cottage in Caputh
The Einsteins move into the house designed by Konrad Wachsmann in September 1929. This is where Einstein sets off on his sailing trips. Elsa Einstein found the house very artistic, very modern! Only four bedrooms, a very large living room, servant’s quarters and bathroom. The most modern central heating system and hot water supplied to every corner. Although Einstein thinks little of the Bauhaus-oriented style, because of its isolation he feels that the house is a paradise.
