However, in this case there shouldn't be a clear minimum for the second measurement. Since the left filter is now positioned at 45 degrees, half of the photons arriving pass through in a complete random manner regardless of whether they are vertically or horizontally polarised.

For the result, it should be of no importance therefore how the right filter is positioned. But this is not so—also in this position of the left filter, one sees the same maximum and minimum. But this means that the photon directions are always perpendicular to each other, fully independent of the directions of measurement.
