What is Polarisation?
The polarisation direction of a light wave can be represented as the plane in which it vibrates. Individual light quanta also have a polarisation. It is measured with polarisation filters. When a filter is aligned with the polarisation direction of a light quantum, it passes through and can be registered by a detector. Conversely, when the filter is perpendicular to it, it does not.
